[Editor's note: Today, January 18th, you may notice a little something different about ELD... specifically at the top right corner of the page. If you haven't heard about SOPA and PIPA yet, click on the banner in the corner to find out more. Basically, it's a potential piece of US legislation that would censor the internet, thus preventing the ability to share information with all of you. Website owners are taking part in many different methods of "striking" today to bring awareness to the need for action. Please help stop this... all it takes is signing a petition or submitting a contact form to your legislators. Thank you so much for your support of ELD and all of the other websites out there! Now... back to our regularly scheduled prettiness! ;) ]
Happy Wednesday ELDers! ;) Well, since it’s Wednesday, you know what that means… a post FULL of gorgeous photos from an amazing wedding! Today that amazing wedding comes to us from the equally amazing Joielala Photographie. Yellow, lemons, burlap, and a bride and groom who are absolutely glowing with happiness… yep that constitutes an amazing wedding in my book! Okay, so now that I’ve used the word amazing way too many times for 3 sentences, how about we hear a little from the bride Ashley? Oh and of course take a look at her AMAZING wedding while you’re at it…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I did most of the planning myself. Our wedding was inspired by all the amazing blogs out there as well as Pinterest.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I wanted to work with people who understood what we were all about and what we wanted our day to be about. We wanted a wedding where our personalities shined through. We wanted everyone to feel at home and we really wanted to have our guests walk away saying, “That was one fun night.” And I can gladly say we accomplished that.
Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?
We loved all of our vendors. We really got to know them through the process. I loved the video montage that our photographers put together. They sent it to us right after the wedding. It was awesome to be able to send it off to family and friends. And the best part was they used the song we played during our first dance. It was super special. I cry and smile still to this day when I watch it!!!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
This is a tough one. I think my favorite thing about the entire day was when they announced us as Mr. & Mrs. Myers for the first time. And I loved how it led into our “crazy” first dance. It was a huge surprise for everyone!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
I would say remember that this day is about the two of you. I noticed a lot of people like to give their opinion and it can be overwhelming. You just have to remember what you both want from that day and enjoy every last second because the day flies by.
Annnnd now I want a doughnut. And thin mints?! You ladies really have to stop having weddings that have yummy looking sweets- it’s going to be really bad for my waistline if I keep craving said sweets! ;) Just kidding of course… have all the yummy sweets you want- it’s YOUR wedding! :) So how do you all like this yellow rustic chic wedding? Isn’t the photography by Joielala Photographie gorgeous?!
