Cinco de Mayo Inspired Engagement Session

Happy Monday everyone! How about we start this week off with a FUN engagement session by Jordan Weiland Photography?! Initially inspired by the couple’s Cinco de Mayo nuptials, it was also inspired by the groom-to-be’s hometown of Okeechobee (how fun is that to say?!) and his love of fishing. My favorite e-sessions are always the ones that infuse the couple’s personalities and include a meaningful activity of some kind. And how cool is this?! The groom-to-be, Patrick, even caught a 10 pound bass that day! Way to go, Patrick!

I also really love when a couple gets in a few outfit changes. It adds a certain celebrity to the whole thing. :) Tell me, did you choose a fun activity for your engagement session? Are you planning to? I’d love to hear your ideas and experiences!

Thanks to Jordan Weiland Photography for sharing these fun, meaningful, and beautiful shots with us!

Surprise Proposal Captured On Video!

Instead of the usual Detail To Love, I’m doing something a little different for today! Some of you may know that I’m a SUCKER for proposal. Specifically, proposals captured with photography or videography. So when Lori of the Orlando-based videography company Shutter Life Productions told me that she was helping a friend with his proposal, I was DYING to see it so I could share it all with you! It’s such a sweet story and so very heartwarming- they did a great job capturing the whole story! I thought it would be a great way end to this week! So sit back, get ready to get a little teary eyed and sentimental, and enjoy!

How much do you love this?! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! Congrats to Patrick and Kimberly, and thank you to Shutter Life Productions for sharing! :)

Did any of you have a super fantastic proposal like this? Mine was just me and my husband- nothing too special or captured on film like this one…. but I want to hear all about yours!

Classic Engagement Session By Justin DeMutiis Photography

While I do love all of the fun ideas for engagement sessions that are out there, I also still love classic sessions like this one from Justin DeMutiis Photography! The shots are absolutely gorgeous and all film photography too! I just had to share them with you all!

Oh, and you know I can’t resist a pet in photos! :) They look so completely comfortable- just like they’re out for a little walk, right? It’s all because of Justin‘s great advice that he gives his couples before their e-sessions…

“I always tell my clients to stick to their own personal style, but maybe take it up a notch. I also recommend simple outfits, and pastel colors photograph best. It is better to coordinate outfits of the same color family than the same exact color. If you’re a jeans and t-shirt kind of couple, wear jeans, but maybe throw a fun pair of boots or high heels in the mix. In short, wear something you both look great in, and that is true to who you are and what you wear on a regular basis.”

So what do you think of this classic engagement session? Do you love it when engagement photos are like this, or do you prefer the styled sessions?

Great article. I think photos like this and styled sessions can both be amazing. It truly depends on the style of the bride and groom and the theme of the wedding.
