I had to share this great style inspiration board that Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book employee made!

These dresses are all from JCrew, and the thing I love the most is the combination of the prints with solids. A combination like this makes for an incredibly modern and chic look for bridesmaids! I love the different fabrics together too. It’s something that I’ve always thought would be a great idea, but I wasn’t sure how it would look together! It looks amazing!

It seems that bridesmaid dresses are becoming more and more stylish now. How great is it to have a bridesmaid dress that you can REALLY wear again?!

Is anyone using a combination of prints and solids for their bridesmaids’ dresses?

Fall is Coming!

Last night, I experienced the first “nice weather” in Florida since April. Now, it wasn’t cool, but it was bearable, as I didn’t start sweating profusely just from being outside. To me, it was “nice weather”.

This must mean that Fall is coming! With the impending arrival of fall, I’ve started to dream of running outside, bonfires, soup, the scent of cinnamon, jewel tones, grays, cardigans and sweater dresses! Of course I’ve been gazing at a few of these things, reinforcing the feeling that Fall is coming. I actually have been expecting to walk outside and feel a cool breeze, but for now it’s just a breeze. Hey, I’ll take whatever I can get!

Friday’s Finds: Beach Getaway

I’m trying to plan a weekend getaway for a weekend in August, since my birthday is next week and my husband’s is the week after. I’m a strong believer that sometimes you just have to get out of town to relax. We’re lucky enough to live 45 minutes to an hour away from the gorgeous West coast beaches of Florida, so it’s really just a matter of finding a place that isn’t booked and will let us bring our dog!

Well, all of my searching for beach cottages has put me in the traveling mood. I’ve come across some different items that reminded me of traveling, and just so happen to be gorgeous as well. And they also cause me to dream about living the life of a chic jet-setter.

Wow. Really cute “On Holiday” bags from the Brandy J Collection.
And the outfits are just smashing as well.

When traveling, I like to be comfortable, and I dress according to where I’m going. A sundress usually works for me if I’m going somewhere tropical in the summer. If I’m going on a plane, I try to wear shoes that are easy to take on and off. It was cute how nearly everyone on the plane to Punta Cana (where we went for our honeymoon) was wearing a sundress or a maxi dress.

At the beach, I like light and airy outfits that are of course comfortable. Linen and cotton are perfect for beach outfits. I try to bring outfits that could easily be worn during the day and then at night by only changing the accessories. Maxi dresses are nice, but they’re always so expensive, so the ones on this post are on sale for a good price!

Friday’s Finds: Vintage Shoes

The popular trend this year is for brides to wear colored or eccentric shoes with their wedding dresses. For me, white really wasn’t an option. I looked, for months, but nothing white was right. One day, when I had pretty much given up, I found the perfect pair of brown shoes by one of my favorite designers, ON SALE for $26. I was ecstatic!

So, going with the eccentric wedding dress show trend, I came across this vintage store, Small Earth Vintage, by way of Modish. Apparently they just got a bunch of vintage shoes from an old shoe store that has been closed down for 25 years. The shoes are in their original boxes. It would be quite an interesting addition to your wedding ensemble to have a pair of these adorable vintage shoes!

Any of these can easily be work again- to work or out on the town! I just may have to snatch up a pair for myself….
