Inspiration Board: Hot Pink, Yellow and White

I’m a sucker for bold color. I love a vintage hue, but there is just something about bold colors and weddings that make my heart swoon. With neon being hot this year, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we see a few weddings with punchy yellows, electric blues, and firey pinks. While this love of neon may give away that yes, I am in fact a child of the 80s, it doesn’t change the fact that a bold hue can still ad a modern touch and level of sophistication to any party.

Inspiration Board: Modern & Romantic Aqua & Red

Happy Tuesday! Okay, so I know aqua and red isn’t anything new, but I absolutely LOVE it, and I’ve been wanting to do an inspiration board for it since the holidays! It’s fun, modern, and I think it’s even a little romantic too. Oh and plus, you might be seeing more of this color palette in an upcoming soon…. ;)

Row 1: Shoes, Invitation Suite, Frame, Marshmallows

Row 2: Color palette, Bride & Groom, Cake, Flowers, Couple

Row 3: Bouquet, Confetti, Table, Plates, Milk Glass

Oh and yes, I did actually decorate my house in red and aqua for Christmas. Which is exactly why I’ve been wanting to do an aqua and red inspiration since then!

So it’s quite clear that I love aqua and red…. but do you love it too?! Are any of you having red and aqua as your wedding colors? Someone please say yes!!!! :)

Inspiration Board: Winter Red, Plum, & White

Since it’s beginning to feel a lot more like winter around here (“Here” being the Midwest, we know all you people living in the South are still enjoying sandals and bonfires {ahem, Lauren}…) I thought it’d be a good time to post a little winter inspiration. While I love the all-white winter weddings and I really can’t get enough of those beautiful pastels, I’m a big fan of incorporating some color into the season as well.

Don’t you love the deep reds and plums contrasted against the white? It makes such a statement yet is still so romantic. Tell me, which would you choose–all-white, pretty pastels, or a pop of color? And I know snow is c-o-l-d but it sure makes for stunning photos, doesn’t it?

Inspiration Board: Peach, Beet & Lavender

Okay so 1) YAY an inspiration board and 2) how do you like all of the foods as color names? ;) I wanted to start the first week of 2012 with an inspiration board, but I didn’t realize just how long it’s been since I’ve done one! It seems like the past few inspiration boards that I created were specifically for inspiration shoots, which is cool and all since I get to bring them to life, BUT that also means they’re more spread apart! So one of my 2012 resolutions is to do more inspiration boards, whether I’m designing a photo shoot around them or not! :) This “peach, beet and lavender” inspiration board doesn’t have an inspiration shoot to call home yet- it’s just purely to inspire! I’ve been loving bold colors paired with lighter colors lately, and this color palette is exactly what I’ve been dreaming up in my head for a while now. It’s so very elegant and romantic, and would be perfect for a spring or fall wedding!

Inspiration Board: Eclectic Purple & Yellow

I decided that I needed some brightness in my life this week, and to me that means yellow! Of course what better way to get my fill of yellow than to make an inspiration board? I’ve been thinking about yellow and purple together for a while now, and let me tell you- now that I’ve created this board, I am LOVING it! It’s eclectic, it’s modern, it’s stylish, and most of all, it’s GORGEOUS!

Row 1: Bottles, Invitation Suite, Bouquet, Cake

Row 2: Color Palette, Chandelier, Tablescape, Straws

Row 3: Dessert table, Bouquet, Placesettings

So perfect for spring or summer, but if you use deeper shades, it would be gorgeous for Fall too! Maybe throw in a pattern or two to be used in the decor elements, and of course use gray accents… oh my goodness, I’m in love! :) So what do you think? Do you all love the purple and yellow together as much as I do?!

Inspiration Board: Dainty Sherbet

Oh my goodness, two inspiration boards two weeks in a row?! I know you all are proud! ;) Well, we can essentially thank my wonderful wedding pro friends for the boards, because I get to have fun creating and designing these boards, and then they help me bring them to life!

This board today is all about sherbet. Not just one color of sherbet either- all of them! It’s a lovely mixture of colors that are pastel, yet can also be more bold by just going a few tones deeper. Add in a few vintage and delicate design elements with the pops of sherbet colors and you have yourself some Dainty Sherbet inspiration!

Row 2: Color Palette, Ice Cream Bowls, Cake, Plates, Sherbet

Row 3: Table, Bouquet, Flowers

I’m loving the mixtures of all the colors! I’m still deciding which way I want to go with the general design. My options are more vintage or more modern. This board is lending more towards the vintage, but it all comes down to the details and elements that I use. What do you think? Which style would you want to see in this “Dainty Sherbet” color palette? Vintage or modern? Help me out! :)

Inspiration Board: Modern Chic Black and Taupe

SURPRISE! Happy Tuesday! I have a gift for you today… an inspiration board! Aren’t you excited?! ;) I’m so sorry for it taking forever between inspiration boards. I’ve pretty much been concentrating on one specific design per month and then creating photo shoots to bring them to life. Which in turn means that I eat, sleep and breathe whatever my inspiration is for the month. Literally. I dream it. Lame, I know, but I suppose it’s one of the “job hazards” of being a blogger! Well needless to say, this month my inspiration has bee this modern, chic look using black and taupe! Take a look…

Row 1: Bridesmaids, Invitation Suite, Bouquet

Row 2: Cake, Color Palette, Dress, Candles

Row 3: Clutches, Candlesticks, Coasters, Salt

For this modern chic design, I’m envisioning a glossy black combined with a matte taupe, a simplistic yet chic candlescape on the table, and interesting details. Annnnnd I just realized that this would be an awesome color scheme for decorating for Halloween, if you wanted to go the chic route. Well, at least I’m keeping it somewhat seasonal, right?

Honestly, this black and taupe color combination has been in the back of my mind for months, and I’m excited to finally see it turned to reality! That’s all I can say about it right now, but just know that you’ll be able to see the product in about December (which by the way will be here before we know it)! :)

So what do you think of the black and taupe? I can’t quite decide on the metal accent that should go with it- what do you think? Gold or silver? Help me decide! :)

Inspiration Board: Natural Beach Chic

Happy Tuesday everyone! SURPRISE! An inspiration board! :) I created this board as inspiration for a little something that I’m working on with fellow blogger Megan of Glamour and Grace. I just kind of threw it together a few weeks ago, but it turned out pretty good, so I thought I would share it! We’re calling it “Natural Beach Chic”- not too much of any single element, but just the right amount of each.

Hi everyone. I’m Brenda from Brenda’s Wedding Blog and I’m so happy to be joining Lauren on her blog today as she enjoys her vacation and some unplugged time. There’s nothing better than being able to get away for a while to recharge and come back all refreshed. Today I decided to showcase one of my favorite color combos – pink and brown. I can’t quite explain what I love about this combo but pink is definitely a favorite color of mine and when mixed with some chocolate, I’d say you have a winner :) Oh, and I added in some ruffles for a little bit of extra fun. What do you think?

Inspiration Board: Chianti, Chocolate & Ivory

You can tell that I’m ready for it to be Fall by the inspiration boards that I’ve been doing lately! It was so ridiculously hot on my run this morning (although it rained and I was an hour later than usual)!

I put this inspiration board together to help one of my brides having a Fall wedding envision her colors a little better. She’s wanting a modern, elegant wedding in tones of “chianti”, chocolate brown, and ivory- so beautiful and elegant together!

This bride is wanting a modern, elegant look for her wedding with a few old world vintage elements. I think the chianti, chocolate, and ivory will do an awesome job of this, don’t you? :)
