What awesome inspiration for how to incorporate ombre into all elements of the wedding! I think my favorite detail is all of the votives- it’s a small element, but still has a big effect. Oh the s’mores table… have you ever had a s’mores cupcake? They. Are. Divine! I loved the way everything turned out! Seriously, candles are such a great alternative to floral centerpieces… and candlelight is just SO gorgeous! The second part of this shoot is a vintage glam look, using pink garden roses and fuchsia orchids, with some crystal bling thrown in for a nice glam effect!

WOW I absolutely LOVE garden roses. Seriously- look at those centers! How could you NOT love them?! One thing’s for sure- this “twofold” vintage shoot has definitely given us lots of gorgeous floral inspiration! :) A big thank you to Roohi Photography and Fishhawk Weddings for inspiring us with this beautiful shoot!

The photographers who participated in the Images For A Cure workshop sent me their images from the shoot, and I put them all together for today’s feature! What I think is so cool about this is that you can see everyone’s unique shooting style through all the different images. Oh and you’ll be able to tell who the images were taken by with the watermarks on each photo. :)

Now for a little info about the shoot itself… when Kristen asked me to style the shoot, she already had the perfect open field in mind, and she knew she wanted a vintage style. We started gravitating towards pastel colors- pink, peach, golden yellow, sage green. For some reason, I immediately thought of sherbet, and we ended up using that as a sort of “theme” and design element. I became a little obsessed with spoons for this shoot, and I was determined to make some sort of spoon garland- which I ended up using as chair decor. ;) I used ribbon and lace to create a sort of “runner” on the vintage table, which ended up being perfect to add more color to whole tablescape! Okay, I think that’s enough talking about all of this- the photos should tell you all the rest! :)

And a little “behind the scenes” of the shoot…

And I just had to close out the post with these Polaroids that Abbey Hepner took. These are actual Polaroids that she scanned into her computer- I saw them with my own eyes! Absolutely gorgeous! She was telling me that she takes a few Polaroids  at every wedding and shoot she does to have something tangible from it. And let me tell you- I am IN LOVE with that idea! :)

So what do you all think? I’m still very much in love with the ribbon and lace runner. :) Oh and the cake. THE CAKE. I’m obsessed with it. Like didn’t-want-to-give-it-back in love with it!

{DIY Tip: It was a little difficult to get the ribbon and lace runner to stay put, so if you wanted to do something like this for your wedding, I would recommend laying it all out to the length you want ahead of time, and either stitching them all together at both ends or even attaching them to each other using another piece of ribbon or lace.}

Okay, now moving on, I have this adorably sweet Fall tablescape from Robin Nathan Photography to share with you all today! It’s was fashioned as inspiration for an engagement party, complete with doughnuts as the centerpiece! YUM! I have a little bit about the shoot from Jamie, the designer and “model” for the shoot!

As we were discussing the photo shoot concept, we kept coming back to the fact that we wanted it to look comfortable, lovely, and inspired by all things autumn. As I thought about what comfort and autumn meant to me, I couldn’t help but reflect on the many autumns I had spent in the Midwest finding comfort in my mother’s cooking, the crispy crunch of orange-y, golden leaves, and lots of steaming cups of tea paired with sweet treats.

One of my fondest fall memories took place in Michigan at the Dexter Cider Mill, where I stood in line for an hour in early November waiting for their famous apple cider doughnuts. My friend and I sat out back and savored the fresh, warm doughnuts between gloved fingers and warmed our bones with hot apple cider, enjoying the clear skies through the changing foliage. Though I live in Atlanta now, I thought it would be fun to recreate my favorite fall memory in the Dexter Cider Mill and the Irwin Street Market provided the perfect backdrop. We made the doughnuts the focal point of the table and used simple materials reminiscent of the Midwest like wheat and river birch branches to bring the room to life.

My favorite part of the room was the sky blue walls that really reminded me of the sunny Midwest skies on a clear, cloudless Fall afternoon. We wanted the room to reflect a laid back, craft- meets -vintage engagement party where every guest leaves with their sweet tooth satisfied. Robin sweetly asked that my fiance and I pose for the shoot, as we were recently engaged, and still living on the “high” of our engagement. It was so fun to share this moment with my honey, as he got to see what really happens when I spend hours perfecting my DIY style.

So adorable, right? I love all of the Fall elements- absolutely perfect for today, being that’s it Thanksgiving and all! Thanks to Robin Nathan Photography for sharing this sweet shoot with us!

Whenever I design photo shoots, I always like to have two “looks” for the tablescape- a higher end look (usually more floral-intensive) and a cost-effective look (usually some sort of DIY)… to achieve “maximum amounts of realistic inspiration”. ;) All of the images in my feature here are focused around the floral tablescape, and Glamour and Grace is featuring the DIY tablescape!

Have you noticed the gold shells used throughout? We wanted to incorporate a beachy style without going route of the overdone “beach” theme that we always see here in Florida, and pretty gold shells were the answer! We decided to use different types of shells as the table “indicators”. Escort cards featuring gorgeous gold calligraphy were attached to various gold shells, bringing to life the concept that guests would match their shells to their tables.

Here’s a little peek of the “other half” of the shoot, but after you see it, you definitely have to go over to Glamour and Grace to see the rest…

Our theme of “natural beach chic” was embodied so very well in this shoot. Natural elements, pale pink and gold accents, and a beautiful beach setting were all a perfect combination. Oh and like I mentioned in the beginning of the post- all of this gorgeousness was photographed on FILM by Jessica Lorren Photography- you can head over to her blog to see a few more of the images! I just LOVE the film, don’t you?!

Venue: Ceviche Tapas Bar and Restaurant

 Lydia provided us with an awesome little story and description of this “Western Couture” shoot…

“Imagine the only daughter of a rancher getting married to the man of her dreams. She loves elegance but also the rustic authenticity that she grew up with. So lace, twine, burlap, and wood were the main textures, and I tried to create and reuse things rather than buy new. The napkins were vintage handkerchiefs, the table was an old wood door lined with a cut up burlap feed sack, and the food platters and cake plate were made from a cedar tree that came down from a snowstorm. Even the cake stand was special as it was an old wooden box that my grandpa used to hold dynamite when he worked in the coal mines of Pennsylvania. Mismatched chairs paired with a borrowed chandelier complete the tablescape. The wedding dress was a fabulous find at a thrift store that I combined with a cute Anthropologie cardigan and jewelry created from an old vintage pearl choker. Hello Western Couture!”

Gorgeous, right? What do you all think of combining western with couture? I. Am. Loving it! Especially the way they accessorized the bride- the cardigan, the necklaces… love love love!
