Purple Rustic Chic Inspiration Shoot

YAY! I can FINALLY post this inspiration shoot that I did with MMD Events and Justin DeMutiis Photography! It had been slotted to be on Style Me Pretty’s Little Black Book Blog for a few months, and I’ve had the images tucked away, waiting to post them!

We created this inspiration shoot to put a new twist on rustic- a little bit of vintage eclectic, with the bold color of eggplant. Using a vintage crate as the main focal point of the table, we filled it with eclectic odds and ends, and flanked either side with interesting containers filled with cotton. To use burlap runners in a different way, we criss-crossed them to create more of an effect on the table. We wanted to show that you can have a great looking table without having to have tons of floral elements.

I created the “Mr” and “Mrs” signs and the table number using reclaimed lobster crate planks. Yep, from Maine and everything. They added in the perfect bit of rustic, almost looking like a fence.

Gorgeous, unique miniature cakes by Cakes With A Kick adorned the vintage plates at each placesetting, carrying the rustic and eclectic style throughout the table.

Meant To Be Sent created gorgeous invitations and menus, carrying the burlap over into the pieces as well. I LOVED these!

I loved this shoot. It was short and sweet- literally I think we were only there for an hour. It was also actually one of the colder mornings in Florida, and we were all bundled up! But it was a gorgeous spot and such a fun table to set up! I SO wish I had more of those planks to make a full set of table numbers, but they were kind of a one-time thing. I’m still on the lookout for something like them though! :) I LOVE the way that Robin of Meant To Be Sent used burlap in all the paper products. It’s such a great way to incorporate the rustic style! I hope you all can gain some inspiration from this shoot! It shows you that you don’t have to have tons of florals to have an awesome tablescape! :) A big thank you to MMD Events and Justin DeMutiis Photography for doing such a wonderful job on the shoot!

Inspiration Board: Bronze & Spring Pastels

Alright, so I thought I would start off this “Wedding Wednesday” with some inspiration from Alexandra of bWed Exclusive! With all of the spring flowers popping up, it’s kind of impossible to NOT think about beautiful pastel colors, and this inspiration board is kind of perfect for spring. It’s all you Alexandra…

It’s Spring… and all I can think about is this inspiration board! It’s just so pretty. The kind of pretty you dream about. While it is mostly white, there is a bit of pink, and just a touch of blue that inspires something so very soft and dainty. I love the delicate baby’s breath, the softness of the ruffles in the wedding gown, the fluffiness of the cake and rustic topper, and the shimmer in the bronzed ring bowl. It’s worth a dream, or two, isn’t it? More like a dream come true…

There really is something so dreamy and calming about pale pastel colors! Love it! And pastels don’t have to be just for Spring- they’re perfect combined with darker colors too! So who’s using pastel colors in their wedding? Raise your hand! :)

Thank you to Alexandra of bWed Exclusive for creating yet another amazing inspiration board! Be sure to check out bWed Exclusive for even MORE inspiring goodies! :)

{Modern Organic} Style Dictionary Inspiration Shoot

I am LOVING this “modern organic” Style Dictionary Shoot from Studio EMP Inc, Lindye Galloway Events, Art With Nature Floral Design, and Classic Party Rentals! It was all produced by Stacey of Hitching Post PR, and she wrote a fabulous story to go along with the awesome images…

We wanted to do a shoot that mixed two seemingly opposing elements…modern and organic. Modern expresses clean lines with a simple, minimal approach, while organic is typically characterized as something without structure or organization. We wanted to bring the two worlds together in a complimentary tablescape.

We started with rentals that reflected a modern tone – crisp white chiavari chairs; squared china, flatware, and stemware; and a pop of color in the napkins. Underneath the place settings sat custom placemats. This is where modern began to meld with organic – three pieces of dark wood bound together in a horizontal fashion created our placemats.

The organic side was expressed beautifully through a continuous floral garland down the center of the table.  The florals used were both soft to reflect the organic nature of the tablescape, mixed with the hard lines of the succulents to tie in the more modern elements.  The floral used were ‘Sahara’ and ‘Vendela’ Roses, ‘White Mojolica’ and ‘Chablis’ Spray Roses, salmon Ranunculus and peach Dahlias.  For interesting texture we used Jasmine Vine, Madien Hair Fern and Berzelia Berries.  And, for the succulents we used assorted Echeverias and Aeoniums.

Above the table, hung a custom chandelier. Reflecting the table, the chandelier utilized the same foundation as the placemats. Hanging from the wood were glass orbs strung at different heights and filled with a variety of organic elements. This is where the organic feel took over.

You know I LOVE that chandelier over the table!!!! WOW, so awesome- and so gorgeous! I love the combination of the organic elements with a modern style. This might be my new favorite shoot (although every week each shoot is my new favorite, right?)! A HUGE thank you to all of the amazing vendors who put this Style Dictionary shoot together!

{ELD Special} Vintage Eclectic Inspiration Shoot

So this inspiration shoot is an “ELD Special” because, well, it’s special! :) I actually created this shoot as a sort of “branding” shoot for myself, to match the colors and look of the new ELD. The amazing Shay Cochrane captured this tablescape in the midst of my “shooting extravaganza” of the ribbon photo shoot and 6 episodes of ELD TV. I’ll be honest with you- I actually forgot about it with all of the excitement of other shoots and submissions that have been pouring in recently! But today I found myself dreaming and scheming about future shoots, and I remembered about this one! It’s short, sweet, and simple. I arranged vintage pieces in an eclectic manner, threw in pops of aqua and pink, and SHAZAM- had my vintage eclectic photo shoot to represent the Every Last Detail brand!

It wasn’t a whole huge ordeal or anything, just a simple and minimal setup. I actually really liked doing it because it didn’t take forever to setup like other shoots do. And I’m so happy with how it came out, really reflecting the ELD brand- from the colors to the focus on details. :) A huge thank you to Shay Cochrane Photography for capturing it so beautifully!
