Colorful and Classic Tampa Wedding

When I’m going through photos for a wedding, it transports me back to the day I was a bride myself. That feeling of overwhelming happiness and joy and seeing that on another bride and groom’s face makes my day. Rebecca and Craig’s wedding day was filled with so many smiles, more than I can probably count. They’re a couple who clearly enjoyed the planning process and left their worries at the door while they celebrated with friends and family- and Carrie Wildes Photography was there to capture all of it!

As a side note, their reception lighting made such a huge impact. Just goes to show that devoting a small portion of your budget (and I’m talking small, here) can help to make a big statement.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

What helped me most in planning for the “big day” was TheKnot.com. This website is a true way to keep yourself in check, especially if you do not have a wedding planner. I had no clue about planning a wedding, and TheKnot really kept me on track and also gave me suggestions on other aspects of the wedding that I never even thought about. I definitely recommend this to any bride planning her own wedding!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing to me in deciding on who to work with for my wedding was professionalism and listening skills. If a vendor was well organized, listened to my ideas, and was efficient in keeping in touch with me, I hired them. I was not a fussy bride, just a bride who knew what she wanted and did not want to mess around with “flighty” vendors!

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

The hall coordinator and the caterer worked very hard to have a bar both inside the reception room and in the foyer for cocktail hour. According to policy, a bar was only allowed in the foyer, so of course I was upset to find out I could not have everything in the hall. It does not sound like a big deal, but when you have a small wedding that you work very hard for, you do not want people missing out of the reception because they are in a foyer getting a drink. After much debate and tears, a compromise was made in order for us to have the reception completely in the hall so guests could stay in one area. I will never forget such generosity or hard work put into our special day!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was EVERYTHING! It was the most perfect day of my life and I would relive it a hundred times over if I could!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

My best piece of advice for other brides is to speak up and let people know what you want, otherwise you will be highly disappointed. Do not be afraid to say “No” or I want this as opposed to this. If a vendor is close, but not exact- remember it is YOUR money that is paying for this extraordinary day. If a vendor is truly professional, they will understand and work hard to make your dreams come true.

Their wedding truly has me pining to be a guest at another wedding, so I can witness that joy and have fun. What do you most look forward to at weddings (yours or friends)?

xo,
Brit

I love the "preserve the memories" idea. It's different, it's memorable, and the preserves are actually enjoyable and usable.
