Vendor Of The Week: Vignette Photography

It’s that time of the week again- time for Vendor of the Week! This week’s featured vendor is the Texas photography company Vignette Photography! Let’s get down to business and learn a little bit about Vignette Photography, shall we?

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I think my photography style is affected by my personal style. I tend towards classic and elegant design and also strive for that in my work. I want my photos to be timeless and enjoyed for years to come. Don’t take that to mean boring either! I like to have fun too!

What is your favorite store or brand?

Oh goodness, it’s hard to choose just one. My classic tendencies pull me towards Ann Taylor Loft, JCrew, Banana Repbulic and The Limited.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

First, be true to your story and personalities when you envision and design your day. Don’t be swayed by trends just because they are trends. Infuse the day with YOU! Second, make sure you not only love the work your photographer does but make sure you are comfortable working with them. You’ll be spending more time with them than almost any other vendor for your wedding. Third, take advantage of all the awesome wedding sites and blogs out there – you can learn a lot!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

I love the dresses, the flowers and the details but what makes me keep doing this are the stories of the people I meet. Getting to know them, hearing about the plans for their day and then seeing it unfold is the best.

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

When I think of classic style I think timeless, elegant, Jackie O, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. You can add to classic to achieve any look you want; be it Modern classic, vintage classic ect… Classic style offers a great foundation to build any dream with.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

The more personalized your wedding is the better. I love all the details of a wedding that represent the couple. At my own wedding we had bagels and the New York Times set out for our guest to have in the morning when they woke up (we are both from up north).

What is your favorite store or brand?

Favorite store or brand would have to be TARGET. Who doesn’t love target right. They have just about everything you need all in one place. I think they cover many styles and I love all the retro patterns they use on their products.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Give yourselves some time to just BE engaged; No planning, no deadlines, no budgets not yet anyway. Now figure out what you can realistically spend on your big day. After this figure out who to invite, if you have a huge budget go crazy and invite everyone!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

The first look – this is an opportunity for the bride and groom to see each other before the ceremony and share those first moments. A time, before the ceremony, when the bride and groom can look at each other, talk to each other, pray together, and embrace one another.

Vendor Of The Week: Heidi Mitchell Photography

I have a fabulous photographer to share with you all as this week’s Vendor Of The Week! Heidi Mitchell Photography is based in Central Florida and has an eclectic style and of course amazing photography!

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

The old song “A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock n Roll” kind of says it all for me. That’s not really speaking of my musical tastes, but more about who I am as a person & a photographer. I don’t confine myself to one genre. There are so many elements that can be added to a wedding that can come together beautifully. The most important thing in weddings (and in life) is to be true to who you are as a person and a couple. If that means pulling your favorite design elements from different styles to create an eclectic feel that is truly you, I’m all for it!

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

I photographed a natural, outdoor wedding where the bride’s sister helped her make this gorgeous arbor for the bride & groom to stand in front of during the ceremony. It was made from tons of different sized branches, and had just a touch of moss hanging on the branches. Not only was it perfect for the style of her wedding, but it was also a great DIY project made by family.

What is your favorite store or brand?

I’m a sucker for J Crew & Anthropologie!

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Spend less time looking through the typical bridal magazines and more time checking out great blogs on the web. Don’t worry so much about being trendy, and focus more on how you can make your wedding a true reflection of who you are as a couple.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

It’s a tie between hearing the couple say their vows to each other and watching the bride dance with her father. I’m a daddy’s girl, so I always end up getting a little teary-eyed during that dance!

You can go to Heidi Mitchell Photography’s Every Last Vendor listing to see more of her gorgeous work! You won’t be sorry. :)

Vendor Of The Week: Fallon Carter Weddings

It’s time for another Vendor of the Week! This week’s vendor is the NYC wedding planning company Fallon Carter Weddings. Let’s learn a little more about Fallon Carter, shall we?

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I consider my wedding planning style modern but classic. I enjoy all the traditions and the formality of weddings but I enjoy incorporating modern aspects through cake design, florals, and paper. Todays bride is always looking for the next trend and how to make her wedding different from the rest. As a planner, I stay up to date on whats new in the wedding world so that I am able to offer modern design suggestions to ensure that my bride’s wedding will stand out from the rest.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

Oh I have so many. One of them would have to be have to be hiding things in or under the brides dress. It may be a certain stitching or a swatch used from a mother or grandmothers wedding dress or a piece of jewerly, but its a little secret that the bride can share…if she wants to of course.

What is your favorite store or brand?

Chanel, Chanel, and Chanel. The clothing is classic.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Newly engaged brides usually want to jump right in and get started. My advice is to take a moment and really visualize your wedding. This will ultimately help you decide on a budget which is THE most important step when starting your planning process.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

My favorite thing about weddings is that after all the months of planning and craziness…that moment when the bride walks down the aisle…and the couple see each other for “the first time”…priceless.
