Elegant Red Ballroom Wedding

So I had a little bit of a late start today because the wedding I was planning on featuring just wasn’t “doing it” for me today. I felt like sharing something with deep, rich, colors, and this wedding from La Dolce Vita Studio is just what I wanted! I think with Thanksgiving being tomorrow, I’m trying to get in the “holiday spirit”, so of course a red wedding like this one is perfect! ;) Oh, and you should know that I’ve been holding out on sharing this wedding while I wait to hear back from the bride, but I can’t wait anymore! So no wedding planning insight from her, but there are tons of gorgeous images to make up for it! :)

I don’t know what it is, but some days I just LOVE flowers- especially when they’re as gorgeous as the designs in this wedding! How about that ceremony arch?! Absolutely amazing! And the centerpieces… I love sharing new, out-of-the-box concepts like these with you all! I think what I love most is that not everything is RED- shades of red and a few other colors were used, and it is gorgeous! Thank you to La Dolce Vita Studio for sharing their beautiful images of this wedding with us!

So what do you all think? Are you loving all the flowers as much as I am?!

I’ll be back tomorrow with a special little feature for Thanksgiving, but if you don’t stop by until after all the festivities, have a happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all get to enjoy some time with family! And for those of you who aren’t engaged yet, Thanksgiving is not only the start of the holiday season, but it’s also the start of “engagement season”!! So I’ll have my fingers crossed for you! ;)

Vendor Of The Week: Art With Nature Floral Design

I am always SO excited to share the amazing pros of Every Last Vendor with you all! What can I say- I have a soft spot in my heart for connecting you all with with fabulous vendors! ;) This week’s Vendor of the Week is a floral designer based in Southern California, Art With Nature Floral Design! And let me tell you- you are in for a TREAT! Kim’s floral designs are absolutely gorgeous!

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

My personal style is Modern but my true passion in floral design is a more garden/natural style which falls in the lines of vintage and eclectic. I love both texture and clean lines- sometimes together. ;)

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

I love seeing produce used in design. Fresh and yummy!

What is your favorite store or brand?

My favorite store is Flora Grubb Gardens in San Francisco. Brand is Roost.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Pick a style and then vendors that work well with it.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

Working with open minded brides!

What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

I listen well to their vision and try to add in the unexpected details, florals, etc.

What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?

Having a great connection with them personally and being available when they have questions! I also suggest and refer other vendors that we will all work well with!

Gorgeous florals, right?! I’ll be honest with you- I visit Art With Nature‘s ELV gallery about once a day for a dose of prettiness! And you definitely should too- it’s chock full of beautiful floral designs! Brides, if you’re in California, you MUST consider Art With Nature Floral Design! And then submit your sure-to-be-gorgeous wedding to ELD! ;)

I worked with Kim on My July wedding (the picture with the blue bridesmaid dress is my sister!) and I absolutely LOVED her. She understood my vision right away and carried it out better than I ever could have imagined. I would recommend her to any bride. She was FANTASTIC!

Natural Beach Chic Inspiration Shoot

Oh my goodness- I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited/nervous/giddy to post a shoot as I am about this one today!!! I’ll back up a little bit though first. Perhaps you remember an inspiration board from a few months ago, and my mention of it being the inspiration for a “little something” I was working on with my fellow wedding blogger friend Megan of Glamour and Grace? Well, we teamed up with Jessica Lorren Photography and some fabulous wedding pros and brands to turn that inspiration board into some REAL inspiration for you all! And here it is- in all of it’s chic, beachy, absolutely gorgeous, SHOT ALL ON FILM, glory!

Whenever I design photo shoots, I always like to have two “looks” for the tablescape- a higher end look (usually more floral-intensive) and a cost-effective look (usually some sort of DIY)… to achieve “maximum amounts of realistic inspiration”. ;) All of the images in my feature here are focused around the floral tablescape, and Glamour and Grace is featuring the DIY tablescape!

Have you noticed the gold shells used throughout? We wanted to incorporate a beachy style without going route of the overdone “beach” theme that we always see here in Florida, and pretty gold shells were the answer! We decided to use different types of shells as the table “indicators”. Escort cards featuring gorgeous gold calligraphy were attached to various gold shells, bringing to life the concept that guests would match their shells to their tables.

Here’s a little peek of the “other half” of the shoot, but after you see it, you definitely have to go over to Glamour and Grace to see the rest…

Our theme of “natural beach chic” was embodied so very well in this shoot. Natural elements, pale pink and gold accents, and a beautiful beach setting were all a perfect combination. Oh and like I mentioned in the beginning of the post- all of this gorgeousness was photographed on FILM by Jessica Lorren Photography- you can head over to her blog to see a few more of the images! I just LOVE the film, don’t you?!

A huge thank you to all the vendors who contributed and helped us bring our inspiration to life for you all! A super special thank you to our models Ashley and Blake- friends of mine who recently got engaged and are one of the most gorgeous, adorable, and in love couples I know! :) And if you haven’t already gone over to Glamour and Grace to see the rest of the shoot, head on over there… but only after you comment and tell me what your favorite part of this shoot is! What do you think?! ;)

What a gorgeous shoot! It is so refreshing ~ I really love the gold shells and the fact that, unlike most beach weddings, blue wasn't part of the colour palette. Blush pink all the way! Well done to all involved.

Eclectic Blue & Green Maine Wedding

Hey there everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend- I’m sure some of you spent it doing some wedding planning, am I right?!  Don’t forget about all the other pages on ELD – ELD 101, the Q&A page, the Inspiration Gallery, and of course Every Last Vendor! They’re all here to help you! :) Alright, I just wanted to pop in to remind you all of that and say hi before we start this week off! Make it a great one, and enjoy today’s gorgeous wedding!

Not only does this wedding by Meg Sexton Photography make me want to hop on a plane to Maine immediately, it’s another great example of a couple infusing their personality into their wedding. Carey, the bride, grew up visiting Northeast Harbor. She chose the venue because as a little girl she sat on her grandmother’s porch and watched other brides get married at that exact location. Carey and Eric, the groom, both hikers, named their centerpieces after their favorite trails. They also gave out Maine lottery tickets as favors (since Eric buys a ticket every week!) and made a map of the island as their “guest book.” Talk about creative, right?

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mom was my go to from the very beginning. She is extremely patient and I value her opinion on decisions. I do not have any sisters, nor did I want to burden my friends with the entire process, so my mom was beyond helpful. The Special Functions Director, Tom Weverstad, at the Astciou Inn (ceremony/reception site) was absolutely phenomenal. Tom guided Eric and I throughout the planning process and provided us with preferred vendors at all price points. Laurie Riddell, Cottage Flowers, was remarkable with her attention to detail and following through with our very specific ideas. Her floral arrangements captured the “Maine” theme we envisioned. The day of, my best friend dealt with all my last minute requests as did Meg Sexton, our fabulous photographer, who anticipated all our needs and kept us on track.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

We met with three vendors for both our flowers and DJ. Whoever was able to stay within our budget but still able to fulfill what we wanted was chosen.

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

Every thing and person involved was perfection!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Marrying Eric of course but also to have everyone we truly adore in a place, Northeast Harbor, Maine, that both of us cherish dearly. We have always wanted our family and closest friends to experience the beauty of Mount Desert Island.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Sincerely take in each moment of all the events surrounding your wedding. They are some of the fondest, most joyful moments of your life!

A big huge thank you to Meg Sexton Photography for sending over these gorgeous photos (that now have me dreaming of the Northeast) and to our stunning bride, Carey, for sharing with us as well. By the way, Carey, that is one spectacular dress! And Eric, you looked quite daper yourself!

I can’t let you go without a couple more tidbits. The rocks used for seating cards were found on a local beach and the candy was stocked by the town variety store. Don’t you just love that?!

xo-Kristine
