Eclectic, Colorful Kansas Wedding

I felt like we needed to inject some color into Thursday this week, and this eclectic wedding from Solar Photographers should do the trick! I love the “Alice in Wonderland” theme that was incorporated into the decor!

Those signs are pretty awesome, right? A big thank you to Solar Photographers for sharing this wedding with us!

Elegant, Luxurious Florida Wedding

When I saw this wedding from ELV Photographer Meg Baisden, I immediately thought of two words- elegant and luxurious. From the ceremony location beneath giant, swooping tree branches to the beautiful poolside reception it’s elegant in every single way. And the deep, rich pinks and purples mixed in with green create such a gorgeous, luxurious color palette. The beautiful bride, Stefanie, was sweet enough to share her insights about her wedding with us, so keep an eye out for it!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Definitely having a checklist with a timeline!  I used the RealSimple Weddings Magazine Planner Edition, which is a yearly publication providing every detail along with broken down instructions for planning a wedding.  It even has a cute little pullout guide you can keep in your purse!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Experience. With so many details and decisions to be made, I felt confident that my experienced florist and coordinators would lead me in the right direction, offering feedback on what has and hasn’t worked in the past for them.  I also looked at pictures from their past events, making sure I liked their work.

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

I could not have survived without the help of Christina Springfield (Nouveau Flowers), Shay Bell and Gabrielle Garrison (WaterSound Beach Club)!  My wedding was absolutely perfect, and I can’t tell you how happy I was to be able to relax and enjoy the evening, knowing that they had everything under control.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Being surrounded by so much love!  When it’s all said and done, what really matters – beyond the flowers, decorations and food – is the lifelong memories your making with your new husband and those you love the most.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Expect the unexpected and remember that everything doesn’t have to be perfect for you to have the time of your life!  It will be over before you know it, so make every minute special.

I must say- that is excellent advice, thank you Stefanie! I love when brides are just able to let go and enjoy their day! It’s seriously the best thing to do! :) And thank you to the amazing Meg Baisden for sharing this gorgeous wedding with us!

Unique, Intimate Texas Wedding

Happy Tuesday! Yesterday I realized that this is a big week for life milestones- my little sister turned 21, my first nephew is being born, and a week from today, my husband and I will have been “together” for 10 years! So I suppose I’m feeling a little sentimental this week. :) And today’s wedding is perfect for sentimentality.

This wedding. Is. Breathtaking. Not just because there is a cotton bouquet and boutonnière and a crazy amazing cotton chandelier. It’s breathtaking because the images from Joseph West are absolutely amazing. Truth be told, I couldn’t wait to post this, yet at the same time, I didn’t want to! I just can’t even explain the amazingness- you have to see for yourself!

I could seriously look at these photos all day. A huge thank you to Joseph West for sharing this wedding with us! We can’t wait to see more of your work on ELD! :)

Elegant Pink Florida Wedding

I don’t think elegant weddings will every go out of style- at least I hope they never do! They’re so timeless, and are always beautiful. This elegant pink wedding from Jenn Hopkins Photography is definitely timeless and beautiful, and a little bling, fabulous florals, and some insight from the bride make it even better! :)

Who helped you most in your planning process and on your wedding day?

I have always known what kind of wedding I wanted; classic, sophisticated and traditional. I remember thinking about colors and themes that I loved even when I was young. So once we were engaged, I just needed to find someone to help take my thoughts into reality. My wedding planner, Lauren Cowgill of Windham Event Design really helped bring my vision to life. She did all the event design, flowers and coordinating for the church and reception. My photographer Jenn Hopkins was also a tremendous help when it came to logistics of the wedding day. Because of these two women (and a year of strategic planning) the day ran so smoothly and I really was not stressed at all. :)

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

When deciding whom to work with for our wedding, Brian and I agreed we wanted someone who fit with our personalities. Someone who understood our requests but who could also relax and have fun with us. I definitely think we got that from our vendors. Our photographer, Jenn and I still stay in contact and I really view her as a friend. I truly believe this comes through in our photos. She understood what was important to us and was able to capture it.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Before our wedding, I thought for sure my favorite thing would be the flowers or cake or something detail related, but after our wedding I realized my favorite thing about our wedding was that everyone had such an amazing time. We had all of our closest friends and family there to dance the night away. Even months later, I still have people tell me what a blast they had…and to us, that’s most important. Memories of the flowers, food, cake etc seem to fade, but when people have a good time, they rarely forget it!!

Such wonderful insight from the bride Gracie! I am SO loving that big square table and the crystal chandeliers that are hanging over it! What a gorgeous focal point! Thank you so much to Jenn Hopkins Photography for sharing this beautiful wedding, and thank you to Gracie for sharing her insight with us! :)
