Eclectic Purple Wedding At The Postcard Inn {Part 2}

Welcome to Part 2 of this fabulously awesome eclectic purple wedding from Jason Mize Photography! If you missed Part 1, be sure to check it out first- there are some gorgeous images you’ll want to see, a really cool first look, and some great insight from the bride, Kelsea! And now I have even more gorgeous images, details and insight in Part 2 of this wedding for you all!

Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?

Cindy called and came to see me the day of just to check on me and give me encouragement. She also followed up with me a couple of days after. It meant a lot that she really cared!

One other thing that I really appreciated was when we were taking pictures in the lobby of the hotel before the wedding, it was really intense having people walk around looking at you and thinking about when the wedding starts. Jason Mize (my photographer) came up to me and said “Just relax, no one else is around.” Even though there were a lot of people around, he wanted to make sure I wasn’t focused on that. That was awesome and it worked!

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

(Referring to vendors) I was most excited about the photography! Jason’s work is brilliant. He is great to work with and knows how to listen!

(Special moment of the day) It was definitely the first look. Tyler and I were hesitant with deciding if we wanted to see each other before the ceremony, or just keep it traditional. I am SO happy we decided to do that! I wrote him a little letter to read before turing around to see me. I was able to say things that I wouldn’t have been able to if we didn’t take that time out. It was such a special time for the two of us.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I have two:
1. It’s okay to know what you want and have standards, but try not to have too many expectations. Nothing ever goes the way you plan.
2. HIRE A GOOD WEDDING PLANNER!! Don’t try to do everything yourself, they take an enormous amount of stress off your shoulders and help you to slow down and enjoy this time with your friends and family!

AWESOME advice- I couldn’t have said it any better myself! Thank you so much for your insight Kelsea! And a huge thank you to ELV photographer Jason Mize for sharing this wedding with us!

PS- Isn’t this venue AWESOME? Seeing these photos makes me SO stinkin’ excited for the wedding I have there this weekend!! I must say- it’s going to be an amazing wedding! :)

    I have been waiting to see these lanterns at a wedding... I can't remember what the festival in Thailand is called, but they made me immediately want to import five thousand and take over a wedding IMMEDIATELY! Also have to comment on whoever did the make up here... they did a great job!

Eclectic Purple Wedding At The Postcard Inn {Part 1}

Goodness gracious, I am in love with this wedding! Seriously, these images by ELV photographer Jason Mize are absolutely AMAZING! The venue- Postcard Inn- my absolute favorite venue ever. The details are great too of course- a special first look, shades of purple, things hanging from trees… sounds awesome right? And it doesn’t hurt that the bride and groom are absolutely smitten with each other and so adorable! The bride Kelsea will also be sharing some insight into her lovely wedding throughout Part 1 and Part 2 of the feature!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Hiring my wedding planner, Cindy Stonehouse with Stonehouse Events and More, was one of the best decisions I made! She kept me organized with not only my to-do list, but my budget as well!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

Its a tie- trust and communication! You have to be able to trust that they will deliver outstanding service and product. If they aren’t good at communicating with you about the details and let you know the things you need to know from the beginning, then it wont be a pleasant experience.

There is A LOT more of this wedding from Jason Mize Photography in Part 2! It’s coming up shortly! :)

Vendor of the Week: Seaside Invitations

Wow, I’m way overdue in introducing you all to Seaside Invitations! Alicia, the owner is actually one of my very good friends here in the St. Pete area, and she’s also very often my lifesaver for paper products/design details! You may have had a glimpse of some of her in work in past shoots featured on ELD, and you’ll be able to see more of her work in future weddings that I’m working on! :) (She is seriously MAKING the wedding I have this weekend. The details she’s helping me with are AWESOME!) But that’s enough of me talking about Seaside Invitations, I’ll  let you get to know her for yourself…

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

We see ourselves as falling under all categories. We are a custom design studio and we believe that no two events are ever a like and either should the invitation. We create invitations that reflect the couples personal style and theme of the event.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

My favorite wedding details is the paper products. The invitation is the first glimpse (or a sneak peak) guests get into a wedding. I love when the brides vision is brought to life on paper and their guests have that wow factor. Then, to see the vision carried through on the rest of the paper goods is my favorite.

What is your favorite store or brand?

My two favorite stores are Anthropologie and Ann Taylor Loft. Those two brands are very similar to my design style. Classy, Simple, Clean (identifiable with the Loft) and then mixed with fun patterns, vintage colors and different textures (identifiable with Anthropologie) to create a custom piece of art.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

A vendor can make or break your wedding and stress level. Take your time doing your research on preferred vendors and ask questions.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

I love everything about weddings. There is so much love and prettiness in the air all the time. Most girls dream about their wedding their entire life, I feel truly blessed to be with them while their dream and vision is coming to life through paper and through the rest of the details. It just lifts my heart!

Definitely visit Seaside Invitations‘ ELV Listing to see more of their work too! This is only a little bit of it! :)

Classic Apple Red Wedding Inspiration Shoot

I think it’s about time for an inspiration shoot, don’t you? :) This shoot from Light Love Laughter Photography will give you a good dose of inspiration! The Atlanta-based vendors that worked on this shoot used the old saying “You’re the apple of my eye” as their inspiration- great idea, right? Stylish linens, crystals, and roses add a beautiful bit of elegance to the classic apple red used throughout. Oh, and keep and eye out for a second table at the end too! You know I love inspiration shoots that have 2 looks to portray the same style!

And a more clean and modern look #2 for the shoot…

So very beautiful, and perfect for the fall and winter weddings coming up! Is anyone having a red wedding? Better yet- is anyone using apples as part of their decor/theme? :)

    pretty! I prefer look #2, but there are lots of traditional brides out there who need inspiration too and they are often overlooked for the rustic, vintage, or modern brides, and I think look #1 would be right up their alley. Both are pretty and well done.
