A Southern Backyard Wedding

Today’s wedding has a special place in my heart because it’s the wedding of friends of mine. Mardi and Jed are high school sweethearts, so it was a no-brainer that they get married in our hometown of Ocala, Florida. “Spring” and “southern” were the exact words that they wanted their wedding to reflect, and it most certainly did that! Everything was absolutely gorgeous and so reflective of their personalities- fun, bright, and classy. Everything took place in Mardi’s grandparents’ backyard, and they were married by Jed’s father. It was truly a family affair! Samantha of J. Monet Studios was there to capture all of the details from Mardi and Jed’s wedding and was kind enough to share them with us!

I loved the DIY photo booth, and I was kind of obsessed with the shoes that all of the girls were wearing! Congratulations again Mardi and Jed, and congrats on your little nugget!

A Backyard Florida Wedding {Preceremony}

Remember this fun Florida engagement session? Well this is their wedding! There are so many great shots of this backyard wedding that Kristen Weaver sent me that I have to split this feature up, so as to not overload you with awesomeness! Kristen was the photographer for the Modern, Chic inspiration shoot, so I don’t have to tell you how great she is- you already know! And so I give you the preceremony shots of Christine and Micah’s wedding….

These photos are just more proof as to how awesome your photos can be if you have a first look! Absolutely gorgeous work, as usual, Kristen! Keep a lookout for the rest of the wedding, and a fun little bonus too!

Gorgeously Simple Backyard Wedding

When Joanna of Joanna Wilson Photography sent over this wedding, I was scrolling through the pictures, thinking, “Oh my goodness, this is so cute,” and then I saw the couple, Herb and Alan! I was SO excited! This is the very first same-sex wedding featured on {ELD}, and I am so very happy to say that it is absolutely gorgeous, simple, and beautiful! Herb and Alan had been together for over 17 years when they got married! They were married in their best friend’s backyard and had an intimate group of friends and family in attendance. Take a look at just how gorgeous yet simple this wedding was…

(I’m such a foodie, I HAD to include the photos of the food!) Good food, great style, and amazing friends and family…it’s the perfect wedding combination if you ask me! Thank you Joanna for sending these photos!

    i'm dying for a same sex wedding. Two good friends of mine who are the CUTEST couple ever are the ones I'm secretly crossing my fingers for. Sadly they live in a stupid state that won't let them legally get married. But... one day!
