Kate Spade Inspiration Shoot

Some of you may remember an “Eclectic Chic” inspiration board that I did over the summer that was inspired by my local Kate Spade store….

Well, this my friends, is the inspiration board brought to life! I LOVE doing photo shoots, and even more I love seeing the inspiration board and everything pulled together! With flowers and decor from MMD Events, Tina Bass Photography, and shooting at the amazing Postcard Inn in St. Petersburg, everything came together gorgeously. This inspiration shoot was actually featured on Wedding Chicks yesterday, which means I’ve had to hold back from posting it- but not anymore, it’s all for you to see!

You can see a few more photos at The Wedding Chicks new gallery feature too!

Now for a little bit from MMD Events (aka me): Our goal with this shoot was to show brides that they can use bright colors and bold patterns and still be chic and modern. Placed with unique plates, the simple, chic menus created by Emily Ley Paper were the starting element. A simplistic colored border and matching font coordinated with the color of the napkins and the “place books”. Place cards created by Emily were made to look like “titles” for miniature books, doubling as favors at each place setting. Various found objects and a unique table number created by Every Last Detail added to the eclectic feel for the table.

A gorgeous centerpiece in shades of pink garden roses was placed on top of fashion magazines, standing out against the backdrop of a chic black lamp. A champagne and gold overlay was draped over a kelly green satin linen, all provided by Connie Duglin Linen. Gold chivari chairs from Signature Event Rentals were adorned by custom chivari chair toppers created by Simply & Forever Boutique, adding the perfect amount of style and sophistication. Combined with a custom bench cover made of a black and white floral print, the black and white seating completed the whole table.

Our stunning model wore a gorgeous gown provided by White Closet Co. and was all dolled up by Hope Henderson Artistry and Hair By Monique. She was accessorized with Stella & Dot jewelry, Bethany Lorelle hairpieces, and an adorably chic clutch from Oatmeal Lace Design. These bright colors and bold patterns are perfect for a stylish bride wanting a wedding that is a little different, yet still incredibly chic. And of course the details are what complete this whole eclectic chic look!

You don’t see bold colors and design like this too often going around the blogosphere and I find myself wondering why. I think sometimes bold colors are done a little tacky, but the key to keeping it chic and modern is all in the details! I KNOW there has to be a handful of brides out there who have a style just like this in their everyday lives! So, what do you all think? Anyone planning on going bold, eclectic, and chic for their wedding?

{Inspiration Board} Modern Aqua & Red

I’m loving aqua this week- perhaps I’m trying to hold on to the summer a little bit longer? What can I say, I love bright color palettes! Give me aqua with ANYTHING any day, and I’m a happy girl. This aqua and red is pretty awesome together- so modern and chic and so vibrant. Perfection for a spring or summer wedding- but I’d love to see it done in the fall too!

Row 1: Programs, Invitation, Bouquet

Row 2: Dessert Table, Paper products, Cake, Pinwheels

Row 3: Escort cards, Flower girls, Table

So what do you think? Love it as much as I do? What other colors do you like paired with aqua? Yesterday’s aqua and yellow wedding was pretty awesome too!

This was my wedding color palette in June. We balanced with a lot of pure white, so the colors would really pop and look bright and happy. We continue to have people tell us it was one of the most unique and interesting weddings and reception based on the decor alone. I am so happy we decided to use these colors!

My sister-in-law used aqua and red for her wedding this past July. The centerpieces were roses in white milkglass and it was stunning!

LOVE it! Aqua and red is my favorite color combo.
Inspiration Board: Orange & Aqua Eclectic Chic

This orange and aqua inspiration is another one that I *thought* I had already done and posted, but as it turns out, I never did! I’ve always loved orange and aqua together- it’s so fun and bright! To me, it gives a sort of retro feel, but overall it’s just really eclectic and chic.

Row 1: Centerpiece, Cake, Vintage Plate, Invitation, Table

Row 2: Bottles, Aisle, Groom, Napkin

Row 3: Menu, Bridesmaids, Pillow Seating, Necklace

Orange and aqua can really go well in any season- I immediately think of spring or summer, as many do, but use more orange and just accent with the aqua, and it’s perfect for fall! And for some reason there always seems to be super cool things in these colors, like fabric, dresses, jewelry, etc! Who’s using these colors for their wedding? What are your favorite colors to be paired with aqua or orange?

Inspiration Shoot: Pink Vintage Chic

I was so excited when I saw this inspiration shoot from Ellie M. Photography! I just absolutely love inspiration shoots, mostly because they’re always vendors’ best work, with fresh, fun ideas. This vintage chic shoot is nothing short of my expectations for an inspiration shoot. The bold color of hot pink paired with eclectic vintage items creates a wonderfully vintage chic look. I think my favorite detail is the menus- they stand on their own!

I love the short dress- it’s such a fun look! Thank you for sharing this with us, Ellie! And great work to all of the vendors that put this inspiration shoot together!
