{Vintage Eclectic} Style Dictionary Inspiration Shoot

In case you haven’t noticed the trend yet, I post all things *inspiration* on Tuesdays. :) This week I’ve got another Style Dictionary inspiration shoot for you! Henry & Masci Photography and the Making ME Event Planning Firm put together this awesome “Vintage Eclectic” inspiration shoot for us! Vintage and eclectic- two of my favorite styles! :)

A little bit about the shoot from Phebe of Making ME Event Planning Firm

This was an unbelievably fun inspirational shoot and I was very excited to be working with Katherine and Craig of Henry and Masi Photography and Jen from Blush Printables, our theme….vintage/eclectic.

I must say I am absolutely in love with Boston second hand stores, there are always treasures to be found and I like to think of myself as an expert shopper. On the hunt for all things vintage I found the first pieces to set the stage for the shoot….authentic silverware that dated back to the 1700’s! After a week or so of taking off all of the tarnish and shining the silverware I could finally see various stamps, markings, and dates and I knew I was on to something great! In the end virtually everything that you see from the milk vases, glass vases, silverware, frames and napkins were all second hand store finds—yes indeed I am a lucky shopper!

The details really make this table work, and while they’re simple I think they really make a powerful statement. Hints of lace, satin, a mish-mash of patterns, fabrics, frames and the hardware gave the table an unexpected elegance and help to pull together a look that any bride could duplicate. A huge thank you to both Katherine and Craig from Henry and Masci for bringing the pictures to life and Jen from Blush printables for her lovely invitation suite!

And now let’s see it all!

I LOVE the use of the hardware and the fact that they were used throughout the whole shoot! And the escort card display is pretty awesome too! :) Thank you thank you to Henry & Masci Photography, Phebe of Making ME Event Planning Firm, and Blush Printables for collaborating on this fabulous Style Dictionary shoot!

Alice In Wonderland Inspiration Shoot

I know there have been several other “Alice In Wonderland” photo shoots going around, but I’m always a fan of seeing different takes on it! I just love the use of blues and yellows in this shoot that Greg Bloomberg Photography sent over. And the details are fabulous!

A few words from Greg Blomberg Photography:

The purpose of this photo shoot was not only to have fun and be creative, but to inspire brides with whimsical, playful, and beautiful ideas for their own weddings. The idea was to create a wedding tablescape inspired by the tea party in Alice in Wonderland. We wanted the concept to be complete with a bride’s bouquet, boutonnieres, place settings, name cards, and anything that might be present at a wedding reception. Adam, Alicia, and Crisman contributed all kinds of Alice-inspired details from the mis-matching chairs to the clocks, little vases, and varied china. We asked Tisha Corcoran, owner of TC Makeup to do the hair and makeup on our own Laura who volunteered to play “Alice.” We found the “Alice” dress at a local antique store called “Dolly Python.”

So, what do you all think of this version of Alice In Wonderland wedding style? I for one love it! Thanks to all of the vendors that did such an amazing job on this shoot!

Kate Spade Inspiration Shoot

Some of you may remember an “Eclectic Chic” inspiration board that I did over the summer that was inspired by my local Kate Spade store….

Well, this my friends, is the inspiration board brought to life! I LOVE doing photo shoots, and even more I love seeing the inspiration board and everything pulled together! With flowers and decor from MMD Events, Tina Bass Photography, and shooting at the amazing Postcard Inn in St. Petersburg, everything came together gorgeously. This inspiration shoot was actually featured on Wedding Chicks yesterday, which means I’ve had to hold back from posting it- but not anymore, it’s all for you to see!

You can see a few more photos at The Wedding Chicks new gallery feature too!

Now for a little bit from MMD Events (aka me): Our goal with this shoot was to show brides that they can use bright colors and bold patterns and still be chic and modern. Placed with unique plates, the simple, chic menus created by Emily Ley Paper were the starting element. A simplistic colored border and matching font coordinated with the color of the napkins and the “place books”. Place cards created by Emily were made to look like “titles” for miniature books, doubling as favors at each place setting. Various found objects and a unique table number created by Every Last Detail added to the eclectic feel for the table.

A gorgeous centerpiece in shades of pink garden roses was placed on top of fashion magazines, standing out against the backdrop of a chic black lamp. A champagne and gold overlay was draped over a kelly green satin linen, all provided by Connie Duglin Linen. Gold chivari chairs from Signature Event Rentals were adorned by custom chivari chair toppers created by Simply & Forever Boutique, adding the perfect amount of style and sophistication. Combined with a custom bench cover made of a black and white floral print, the black and white seating completed the whole table.

Our stunning model wore a gorgeous gown provided by White Closet Co. and was all dolled up by Hope Henderson Artistry and Hair By Monique. She was accessorized with Stella & Dot jewelry, Bethany Lorelle hairpieces, and an adorably chic clutch from Oatmeal Lace Design. These bright colors and bold patterns are perfect for a stylish bride wanting a wedding that is a little different, yet still incredibly chic. And of course the details are what complete this whole eclectic chic look!

You don’t see bold colors and design like this too often going around the blogosphere and I find myself wondering why. I think sometimes bold colors are done a little tacky, but the key to keeping it chic and modern is all in the details! I KNOW there has to be a handful of brides out there who have a style just like this in their everyday lives! So, what do you all think? Anyone planning on going bold, eclectic, and chic for their wedding?
