Interview:

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

Because you won't find bejeweled engraved invitations or über-fancy script centered on an ecru panel here. The couples I work with are funky and unique and expect invitations to match.

What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?

I remember the first time I saw a non-floral bridal bouquet. This particular one was cotton and wood. I know, it's not very modern of me, but I'm a sucker for shattered preconceptions. I think the perfect detail is the one your friends and family would never have thought of but, once they see it, couldn't imagine your wedding without it.

What is your favorite store or brand?

Eames. I am a sucker for midcentury modern and strive for an iconic look in my invitations.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Stop worrying about tradition or custom and make your wedding your own. My wife and I regret doing what we thought was expected of us and not allowing our personalities to show. That said, etiquette never goes out of style.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

That they can be whatever the couple wants now. Taxidermy-themed wedding? Yes, please! Recreate a living forest inside our venue? Can do. Sideshow performers as dinner entertainment? Wouldn't have it any other way.
