Interview:
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
We prefer a more cinematic vintage style because we feel as though the photos are warmer - and convey a certain perfect imperfection that we strive for with any of our work. Photography is about so much more than 'technically' perfect photos - it's about warmth and capturing feeling, not just a cold record of a moment.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
Our favorite wedding detail is almost always during the few moments of the day when we're alone with the bride and groom, photographing them away from everyone else. Even though we're right there, shooting away - we like to think that we make it possible for them to ignore everything else going on around them, so the connection we 'capture' - is actually happening right there - and isn't just posed for the camera.
What is your favorite store or brand?
We have two favorite stores. Anthropologie & Barnes & Noble.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?
Take your time - and absolutely go with your gut feeling - even if you don't understand it at first. Take the time to really listen to what the two of you actually want and the way you want things done. There are very few 'rules' that can't or shouldn't be broken anymore.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
We absolutely love how your family and friends will all come together to celebrate YOU and your union - and make you the focus of their day. It's always an honor to be present - even after we've attended so many weddings.
