Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
We are modern because we are a Fusion Studio. We blend fine art photography, modern photojournalism, natural and organic, high fashion and glamour, romance, raw emotion, fun, and timeless in our images as well as modern wedding films. We do everything in digital format and are constantly improving upon our craft and studying the the latest advances in equipment and technique. We are artists first and foremost, so we can really do any style requested by our couples.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
That would have to be a big candle that was part of a Greek ceremony. There were a lot of traditions that were a part of the ceremony and we felt blessed to be able to be a part of something that held such importance in the couple's and family's traditions and faith.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Definitely Calvin Klein. I guess this ties into our modern style. We show up to every wedding dressed in our Calvin Klein attire. Their clothes are modern and sleek and match our brand for Studio Eleven One.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?
Do not cut corners in your budget when it comes to photography and video. I can't even count the amount of times I hear from guests at my client's weddings who say their biggest regret is going with a family friend to take their photos or photographer that was super cheap to save money. When your wedding day is over, the dress is packed away, the flowers discarded, and the food eaten, what will you have to remember this day? You spent your life dreaming of this day, you saved up for the perfect dress, you went all out to ensure your guests have a fantastic time at your wedding with the best food and drinks, that the decor is completely gorgeous. Take the time to save and hire a professional with experience and talent to tell your story. A good photography/video team not only helps you to enjoy the experience but allows you to relive those moments over and over again with your photos, album, and video. You don't want to have a gorgeous wedding and end up with Walmart prints! You go to the Doctor when you are ill, you hire a mechanic when your car breaks down, hire a professional to capture your wedding.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
Our favorite thing about a wedding is the love and happiness that the couple share. The emotions of the day between everyone involved including family members and the guests. It is just such a privilege to be a part of one of the most important days in a person's life. The look on the groom's face when he sees his bride for the first time, the emotion in a father's face as he dances with his daughter, the speeches given at a reception; there are so many moments! We actually get to witness such special people at their most beautiful and most happy moments, and this is our job! Really, how lucky are we? Very, we are passionate about what we do!
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
For both Micah and Dakoda: We have a very easy manner and are just very down to earth guys. We approach everyone as if we are family or best friends. After all we will be with you at some of your most intimate moments in your life. We want all of our clients to feel comfortable and trust us. We have had clients from all walks of life, backgrounds, professions, and ethnicity, and we have the same relationship, respect and trust with them regardless. Also since we are brothers, we work together in such a way that a lot of times we don't even have to say much to each other during an event because we know each other so well. We are never nervous or worried and never feel pressured by the pace or unexpected occurances that can and do happen at weddings. This attitude helps to keep our client's minds at ease so they can enjoy their day even when the unexpected happens.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
We are always on time, organized, and professional. We know what we need to do, how we want it done, and we are very efficient. We give every client the red carpet treatment! They are the stars of the day! We celebrate the unique and individual beauty that is within each bride and groom. When our clients have specific wishes for their day, we make sure that we honor those wishes. We take pride in our work and we are passionate about every wedding! If a situation arises or something needs to be done that isn't part of a photography teams job, we step up. Our assistant has helped tie dresses, fix veils and hair more times than we can count. We have had to act as a wedding director on more than one occasion. Our number one priority is to capture and tell your story but we will help our clients when needed.
